About Marriage Counselling & How I Prefer to Work with Couples
We can explore lots of thing to improve your marriage:
• Identifying your preferred love languages
• Identifying priority needs each of you have
• Helping you commit to specific plans (of your choosing) to meet your partner's needs and deposit more in each other's 'love-bank'
• Learning how to avoid using communication 'hand grenades'
• Encouraging you to choose to remove 'love busters' from your reactions towards each other
• Having 'fairer fights' more often to deal with the 'bear traps' you find yourselves unexpectedly caught in, whether or not s/he knew it had happened
• The “Prepare-Enrich” programme is available. Owen is trained and accredited for this programme. Prepare-Enrich is for couples wanting to enrich their marriage and for couples planning to marry.
Also I offer individual counselling for the things that trigger your worst reactions to your partner.
It is possible to get on well or even thrive together even if your relationships seems too far gone. If there is abuse in the relationship great care is taken by this service about supporting you in your choices about what to do. That may include separate counselling sessions.
